Description
Appearance
Urgnak is your typical green skinned orc weighing 410 pounds and stands at 7 feet, 1 inches tall. Atop his partially bald head are orange tattoos which lead down towards a thick layer of long black hair. His beard is collarbone length and of the same black as his hair is. His stocky figure is notable of most orc barbarian men.
Personality
While some see Urgnak as nothing more than a mere nuisance due to his lack of exposure and understanding of the world, he carries a fighting spirit and a desire to understand what he's truly meant for. Due to his rage, he is often more aggressive and less merciful than some of the other characters. He often believes violence is the answer over peace, despite the fact this was tested upon meeting Khalida, the half-orc slave during the Nestwood noble massacre. Because of his low intelligence, Urgnak is illiterate and cannot read or write in any language. While he often speaks rather simply or not at all in common, Urgnak is rather eloquent when speaking in his native orcish tongue.
Biography
Backstory
Little is known of Urgnak's story before meeting The Wild Hunt. He grew up in the Gamordan Mountains in a large, abandoned dwarven keep known as Coldmourn. It is here he claimed residence, living among furs and an altar dedicated to that of his dead mother who's skull he carries along with him. Knowing little of his heritage or of his people, Urgnak grew up with a skewed perception of how his kin truly were. He believed them to be just as barbaric as the world made them out to be. For a time he wandered, hunting animals by snapping their necks for food and simply trying to get by.
Meeting The Hunt
Following the Summer Palace Tragedy, the party made their way through the Black Forest towards Coldmourn so that they could establish a base. Urgnak, who was lost within the dark forest, found himself sitting among a stump sobbing loudly to himself. Luckily, the party came across him and offered to help him out upon seeing his great strength after he pimp slapped a fairy nymph attempting to charm the party. He followed them dotingly and considered them quick friends, never having friends of his own before.
He was initiated into the Hunt through necessity following the sudden departure of Creek Morrow, who disappeared without a trace from the forest. His power came in handy upon defeating a newborn blight dragon that attacked the party after being summoned by an evil shaman named Mahane. The dragon took the life of Rorik and with the shock of his death, abandoned the forest knowing that it's turmoils were not something the party could solve on their own.
Upon their arrival at Coldmourn, Urgnak revealed that it was once his home. However, Urgnak knew not of the sanctuary city hidden beneath by a secret puzzle meant only for a true dwarf of the Pantheon. Luckily, Morlum was able to decipher it and thus they traveled through and into the city now known as Deepshore.
Self Discovery
During his murder of many nobles during a tea party in Nestwood posed as Garothmuk for [[Pierre], Urgnak was confronted by a young half-orc slave woman named Khalida, who begged for his mercy in the name of the Warchief Tal'Magoth, a paragon to the orcs and leader of the religious creed. He felt compelled to rescue her, and hoisted her upon his shoulder to save her life from the burning gardens.
With their return to Deepshore, the two spoke of true orc purpose and what it meant to be kin. It is through his conversations with Khalida did he discover that the orcs were not what the world made them out to be. This has started a burning fire within him to learn more of himself and his people, and just what this Tal'Magoth guy wants with him.
Relationships
Azu
Azu Mylaro and Urgnak became close friends following their meeting in Nestwood, so much so that the two now share a secondary suite styled apartment within Deepshore. While Azu is often subjugated to cat jokes by Urgnak despite his clear discomfort with such things, it's clear that Urgnak does not do it out of spite but out of clean fun.
Khalida
Khalida met Urgnak during the noble massacre in Nestwood, in which he rescued her from her slave status and brought her alongside him to Deepshore. The two have grown to be close friends over time, bonding over a teacher and student relationship despite Khali being younger than him. With a passion for the creed of Tal'Magoth, Khali insists that Urgnak is meant for more than he realizes.
Kenton
Like most members of the Hunt, Urgnak sees Kenton as a respectable and fatherly figure. Despite Kenton's small prejudice and worry for having the large orc around, he continues to treat him all the same in retrospect to the other members.
Moro
Urgnak was once frightened of Moro due to her sharp and snappy attitude and her scolding of his foolish mistakes, but now he sees her as a respectable comrade not only in battle but in daily life as well.
Fonia
Fonia and Urgnak severely dislike eachother. Similar to Moro, Fonia was rather critical of Urgnak's choices and would go as far as to yell at him. In one instance within the Fey realm when attempting to save the lost Elders, Urgnak shoved Fonia into a puddle of strange magicks which burned her after he tried to snatch a bag of beans out of a statue's hand.
Trivia
- Similar to KC's first character, Frer'cahl, Urgnak has a story line based around discovering more about his race and what it means to be who he is. Unlike Frer, his discovery is not rooted in domination or power but instead revelation.
- Urgnak only wears a loincloth, some boots, and a couter.
- When speaking in common, Urgnak often messes up his words of utters "uh" as he attempts to process sentences. However, in Orcish he is entirely fluent and articulate in his words.
- For an entire boss battle against Caius the Archlich, Urgnak was paralyzed and appeared dead. Unbeknownst to Urgnak, Khali began to pray and made a bargain to Tal'Magoth in exchange for his survival. He awoke moments later.
- Urgnak loves raw meat.
- If he was an Overwatch character, he would be Winston.
