Physical Description

No two humans are alike. Whether wide or thin, tall or short, of darker skin or lighter skin, humans are all unique in their own respect. Unlike Elves, humans have rounded features and are often a bit more corpulent when in comparison to their elven cousins, but no where near as stocky as Dwarves. Their eyes are blue, brown, green, gray, or hazel. Human hair is brown, black, blond, or red. Men often grow short beards and women commonly wear their hair past their shoulders.

Humans speak in a thick, drawn accent with short vowels. However, this dialect varies from location to location. For example, the people of Nestwood speak in a low drawl with a breathy undertone while the people of Kingsrun are pitchy and terse in their phrasing. Made-up words such as "innit?" and "whatsa" are rather common in human accent. Humans of lower status often say the word "yeah?" after most things they say as if to reiterate that one is listening and understanding them.

Humans dress in a variety of attire, though they heavily prefer the color red as it is the color of Human Kingdom.

Relations

Humans have a most turbulent relationship with most of the other civilizations of Meryndan. They have not only been at war with the elves, but in bouts with dwarves as well. Over time the relationships have seemingly mended and they remain a truce. Orcs, however, are currently seen as a primary foe as the Tribulation, also known as the "War For Theodora" continues to rage on with no sight of an end.

Culture

Humans are the most numerous, yet also the most contentious of all the races of Meryndan and even across the world of Thrae itself. Humans are probably the most culturally diverse race as they have half a dozen nations of their own, each with different customs and traditions. Their valor, optimism and versatility have led them to conquer many lands and create glorious kingdoms. Humans are seen to be filled with unchecked passion and ambition, and this has made them uncontainable despite the human desire for order among the populous. Their desire for power and knowledge has allowed for some of the greatest wizards to be human.

The color red is significant to the human race, as it represents years of oppression and the deaths of thousands lost among the Human and Drow War. History speaks of a day where the skies burned a scarlet red upon finally overcoming the drow oppressors.

Society

The humans of Meryndan have a very strong sense of triumphalism and have been known to be arrogant, boastful, and ostentatious. Most noble humans believe that they are the pinnacle of the perfect race, having versatility unmatched by any other race. Seraphism is incredibly important among human society and those who scorn it are often shunned.

Alignment and Religion

Humans in Meryndan typically follow the religion Seraphism, based around the worship of an all-holy figure known as the Mother. Mother represents a burning fire that conquers all and weighs between justice and mercy. Her vision is that of a woman of sallow skin, long stringy white hair, and gray eyes with large black pupils. She is also presented as a white dragon with bloody talons.

Humans are a vast array of alignments and never bow to a specific set of neutrality, goodness, or evil.

Adventurers

Elodea and Reese are two human members of The Wild Hunt.
