Description
Appearance
Casper stands at six foot without heels. Her skin is an odd, mottled mix of blue and green dotted with lighter patches along her belly and face. Alongside the patches are small patterns of hardened scales similar to barnacle atop her skin, however these patches are not thickly layered. Her hair is a dark turquoise and color and formerly reached her hips until she cut it off to her shoulders upon becoming ambassador to the Hunt. Her most notable feature is her glowing yellow "eye" which resembles a jewel, while her other eye is constantly covered with an eye wrapping. Prior to becoming a chief adviser, Casper used to don a rather skimpy set of swashbuckler-styled armor alongside a large shell-covered tricorn. Once she arrived in the Gamordan Mountains did she switch out her old pirate gear for furs. When in Merfolk form, she has a long multi-finned tail that stretches about seven feet long in a very dark green.
Biography
Backstory
Little is known about Casper's life even to those who have known her for long periods of time. Long ago, Casper was a siren who roamed the seas in an effort to drag poor, unfortunate sailors to their demise with a song. To this day, Casper suffers the effects of being a siren as she continues to have an intense thirst for blood that can only be sated by using vials that she keeps on her person at all times.
Casper formerly had two ships before acquiring The Good Luck, her current ship. Their names are unknown but both were abandoned with crew intact for varying reasons unrevealed. Roxi Leighton and Randall Leighton found Casper after she abandoned her second ship at the age of seven in which they were informally adopted by the Captain.
Her recent ventures heavily rely around the stealing of modern technologies in an effort to sell them for an inflated price on the black market. Most of these technologies came from The Sink in which the design and structure of firearms were being shelled out. One could easily come the conclusion that it was Casper who brought the birth of gunslingers into Meryndan.
At one point she was in a relationship with Hendricks, a leader of the Bountys' Guild. The pair broke up because of supposed infidelity after she found a pair of panties beneath his bed.
Introduction To the Party
The party had made their way into the anarchist city of Magport, a city state unmarked on maps known for it's lack of proper government and population consisting mostly of pirates, bounty hunters, and con artists. Needing a way into Malnathas, the party resorted to paying a small fee to board The Gook Luck after talking to the twins around their ventures. It is there they discovered the dark dealings of the crew. Casper was peddling firearm blueprints to and from black market locations, which left her a felon marked for death by the dwarven monarchy. After tracking her down, the dwarves boarded the ship and began attacking the crew. Casper, in an effort to leave no tracks behind for a trail, used her siren song to summon an enormous kraken by the name of the "deep one". The kraken ended up nearly murdering half of her crew when it turned on her, but was eventually destroyed thanks to the Hunt's efforts. However, few members of the party such as Morlum and Creek Morrow sided with the dwarves after finding out of the crew's illegal activities. They were pacified and spared in exchange for their silence.
At the Summer Palace, Roxi had an awful feeling of dread that washed over her and quickly ran from the ball to gather Casper. Her intuition was right as the ball was a death trap, and hordes of Nephilim and two large black dragons began pillaging the palace. The party escaped at the expense of Vahlia, Randall Leighton, Kenton Sterling, and Fonia. They escaped onto Casper's ship in which they watched as the palace burned wildly and the dragons flew off into the distance. Distraught over the death of her adopted son, Casper sunk into the shadows and opted to step back from theft for some time.
With the party's arrival at Coldmourn, now known as Deepshore, they saw that Casper was waiting for them alongside Reese Drumlin and Roxi Leighton after following a tip from Rana El' Shazar. She insisted the true enemy was the one who had drafted them all along, Thymlyssa. The party then followed her into the depths in which they discovered a large, perfectly kept underground village where the food remained fresh and the animals thrived. It is then that she dedicated her cause to the Hunt in order to avenge the death of Randall and stop the nephilim.
Trivia
- Casper was Beans' first proper d&d character in a 5e campaign which only lasted one session due to the DM being her ex-boyfriend's friend. Her class of "swashbuckler" was a combination of gunslinger and rogue.
- Her twin flintlocks, Triton and Athena, are named after the parents of Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
- Casper speaks very little and when she does keeps her mouth pursed because she's rather insecure about her jagged, siren teeth.
- She gave her notable tricorne cap to Frer'cahl because he showed a true passion for ships and the sea.
- Similar to her Mer form, Casper's body ratio is mostly legs.
- When Casper battles alongside the party, the Pirates of The Carribean theme always finds it's way in the playlist.
- Casper's siren song, which is a racial ability, has two abilities. Her siren song, when using against enemies in an effort to harm them acts as a sonic blast which deals 2d6 damage and deafens if they don't pass a successful fortitude save with a varying DC. The ability also allows her to charm sea-based creatures of any type upon their unsuccessful will save.
